Microsoft is replacing its default font in Microsoft 365 and Office apps, Calibri, with a new font called Aptos. Aptos offers flexibility with its four different font weights and the option for serif variants. Creator Steve Matteson describes Aptos as having "a little bit of humanity" and being easy to read and eye-catching. The font is now rolling out as the default font in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word for millions of users. It will still be available under its old name, and the previous default fonts will also remain accessible. While it may seem like a small change, the default font can significantly impact the look and feel of everyday productivity tools. The shift to Aptos reflects the need for fonts that work well across various devices and screen sizes.
