The 13-inch MacBook Air with an M2 processor was initially released in July 2022 with support for Bluetooth 5.0. However, Apple has now updated the technical specifications of the latest 13-inch MacBook Air model to indicate support for the faster and more reliable Bluetooth 5.3 standard.
Following the introduction of the 15-inch MacBook Air with Bluetooth 5.3 at WWDC 2023, Apple has also updated the specifications page for the 13-inch MacBook Air to reflect its Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility. The Bluetooth 5.3 standard offers improved speed and reliability for connecting with Bluetooth accessories, along with enhanced power efficiency that can contribute to longer battery life.
It's worth noting that all new Mac, iPhone, iPad Pro, and Apple Watch models released since September 2022, as well as the second-generation AirPods Pro, now support Bluetooth 5.3.
While both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are limited to Wi-Fi 6 support, other new Mac models offer Wi-Fi 6E, enabling faster wireless connectivity over the 6 GHz band.
